Geraldton 

Geraldton is famous for being extremely windy.  So much wind that the trees grow sideways.

HMAS Sydney II war memorial

The dome is made of 645 birds, representing the number of lives lost on the HMAS Sydney II, in world war II.  The HMAS Sydney II was only found in 2008, 207km west of Steep Point (which is the most westerly point of mainland Australia).

In the background you can see the Cervantes Island.  This was named after an American ship, that became shipwrecked.

Tower

This 45metre tower leans over 15 degrees, and has the greatest lean for an unsupported structure.

We were able to fill our balloons with water and take them to the top of the tower.

We then dropped our water balloons down the coloured chutes. 

Then, we watched gravity take over.

Inside the Gravity Centre, there were lots of interactive science displays.

Perth to the Maritime Museum, Fremantle

The Oven's submarine

Dad took Gran, Pop and I to Fremantle to go on the submarine tour.  We went the other day but Gran and Pop hadn't seen the submarine, so I got to go again.

I asked a question 

Why do submarines have wings?  The tourer guide stated, wings are used to guide/navigate the submarine, like an aeroplane does, but through the water.

Today we explored the Perth Mint and watch gold being smelted and then being poured into a 6kg gold bar.  I tried to pick up a 12kg gold bar, but it was to heavy.

Oldest Bell in Australia

Cast approximately 450 years ago in 1550.  This bell is one of four bells that rang out from the tower of Upton Grey, in Hampshire, England.  The mouth diameter is 920mm and weighs 459kgs.

Perth Zoo

Gran and Pop 

Yesterday, my Gran and Pop arrived at the caravan park we're staying in.  They plan to stay in Perth, with us, for the week.  My brother Zachary and I were very excited to see them.  We did some paintings and pictures for them.

Perth Zoo

Gran and Pop, took Mum, Dad, Zachary and myself to the Perth Zoo for the day.  We were able to show Gran and Pop some of the animals we saw at Dubbo Zoo.
